antique 1914 print skiff on lake, with man woman child, nature
In my picking, I come across some really beautiful old art
Most often, these are larger format prints, dating back at least 100 years, and even though they were originally released to the masses, very few of them have survived
I find them in the most fragile gold gesso frames, with their original glass and to be honest, I hate to ship them and risk breaking something that's so old. So, I sell them when I do pop up markets and then I spend the next month answering emails from disappointed followers that wanted the piece.
So, I'm trying something new! I'll be offering $15 digital downloads of these amazing works. Each of them will be beyond their copyright expiration (most from the 1920s or earlier), so no worries there. You'll be able to instantly download a file that you can print locally up to 16x20 and frame (or not frame) to your taste, needs, and size specifications. I'll post images of the print, as I found it, with a bit of the background story and any history I can find on the image itself.
I'm a picker, not a printmaker, editor, or photographer, so this is a new process for me. Let me know your questions with this process and we'll figure this out together!
The details on this one:
The original is dated 1914 from a print published by Kunstanstalt Dresden
I haven't been able to track down the original artist on this one yet, but I'm still working on it
Original print is 16x20 and came in a beautiful oak with gold gesso gallery frame, and I think an oak or gold modern frame would be a great fit for this as a print and really bring out the light in the background
I picked this German print from an estate in central Ohio, in the heart of an Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch community
After purchase, you will be able to instantly download a file, to print locally
Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed.
